MdC, the top-rated and most award-winning Spanish PR agency of the year, is to assume responsibility for Nexmo’s communications in Spain and Latin America (Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Mexico and Brazil).
Nexmo, a cloud communications platform leader, has recently launched the world’s first Chat App API that allows brands to communicate with their clients individually via chat applications. Currently more than 70,000 companies all over the world trust Nexmo to handle their business critical communications.
Cloud communication services are positioned to disrupt the traditional mobile landscape, according to International Data Corporation’s (IDC) recent report: “Worldwide Cloud Communications Platforms 2014–2018 Forecast: The Resurgence of Voice and SMS” (doc #250224, August 2014). IDC forecasts that the cloud communications market will grow from global revenue of USD 123.4 million in 2013 to USD 7.5 billion in 2018, a 127.5 percent compound annual growth rate. Nexmo has extensive experience in enabling robust and scalable in-app communications, and has worked with more than 1,820 wireless carriers and communication providers to serve over 2.8 billion API calls per year.
MdC will now be responsible for all of Nexmo’s media relations in Spain and Latin America (Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Mexico and Brazil). MdC’s objective is to position Nexmo as a leader in the cloud communications market.
An important component of the agency’s strategy is to generate awareness of Nexmo’s solutions throughout not only Spain but also all of Latin America. MdC has worked in this latter market since 2008 when the company branched out and opened an office in Miami with the aim of offering clients effective communications support throughout North and Latin America. This move, together with the opening of an office in Casablanca in 2013, forms part of MdC’s commitment to international expansion.
MdC’s international outlook is based on a growing hub and spoke model that allows the agency to offer communications support across Europe from owned offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and Girona; across Latin America and the USA from the Miami office; and in Africa and the Middle East from Casablanca. This approach is strengthened on an ad hoc and in-situ basis through cooperation with affiliated agencies.
MdC’s founder and CEO Didier Lagae outlined his delight at the news: “We’re very happy to welcome Nexmo to our portfolio of tech clients, which includes Suse and TeamViewer among others. Thanks to our team’s extensive experience in this field, complemented by Nexmo’s strong cloud communications platform and solutions, we’re certain that our communications campaigns will be a great success.”
Gabi Schindler, Nexmo’s CMO, also expressed her delight: “We’re confident that with MdC’s expertise we can increase our visibility and leadership in important markets such as Spain and Latin America. The PR firm’s strong experience with technology clients will help us generate the desired results for our fast growing global business.”
