MdC, the top-rated and most award-winning agency of the year, has won an In2 SABRE Award in the category of ‘Social Media and Community Management’ for the best Facebook strategy and campaign for its client refund.me. MdC was also recognized with two Certificates of Excellence for their work with SEO and animated videos. In addition, the agency’s campaigns for TRESemmé and Bombardier were finalists in the ‘Trade Show’ and ‘Africa’ categories, respectively.
MdC designed and implemented a 360º pan-European campaign that launched technology start-up refund.me from a purely local online business to worldwide sector leaders. After a successful launch in Germany, online passenger rights specialist refund.me aimed to replicate its success worldwide using technology and local legal teams to claim compensations from airlines for flight delays and cancellations.
MdC’s brand-launching, international campaign involved attacking airlines, partnering with consumer rights NGOs and lobbying elected European and national officials. Executed and tailored to the English, French, German and Spanish markets, the campaign raised awareness and drove business across age groups and cultures, combining media relations, social media, advertising, SEM, SEO and design.
The Facebook campaign centered on creating a highly interactive community and attracted over 145,000 followers in less than six months. The strategy included powerful visual adverts appealing to both the emotional and the rational, tips and news stories. The content was tailored to each market thanks to a daily performance analysis and helped to increase site traffic by over 15%. Facebook fans accounted for 5% of sales opportunities.
In less than a year MdC’s 360º campaign multiplied refund.me’s sales and catapulted it from a local online business to the undisputed worldwide sector leader and key expert voice.

This latest award is further testament to the success of MdC’s campaigns which aim to Create News, Create Brands and Create Results.
