MdC, Spain’s most award-winning PR agency in the last decade, is set to add to its overflowing trophy case with three new nominations in the EMEA Gold SABRE Awards. The nominations from three sectors—consumer, technology and corporate—and three geographic scopes—Spain, Europe and Africa—confirm MdC’s growth into a premier, full-service international PR agency.
The nominations to the EMEA Gold Sabre Awards obtained by MdC are:
– TRESemmé Goes Fashion in the Trade Show category;
– Refund.me, Claim Your Rights in the Multi-Country Campaign category;
– and Bombardier’s African Take-Off in the Africa category.
TRESemmé Goes Fashion: Trade Show category finalist
MdC earned this nomination by successfully positioning TRESemmé (Unilever) as a brand that is about much more than just hair products—one that is genuine, transparent and at the forefront of fashion—by designing an integrated communications campaign around the TRESemmé MFShow. On MdC’s recommendation, TRESemmé became the official sponsor and co-organiser of the weeklong independent tradeshow during the annual Madrid Fashion Show.
MdC then multiplied the tradeshow’s impact by ensuring the presence of dozens of journalists, bloggers and influencers, enlisting actress-model Esmeralda Moya and organising an amateur model competition. Thanks to media coverage reaching more than 500 million consumers—11 times the population of Spain—MdC’s campaign directly boosted Spanish sales and market position by ensuring TRESemmé became a trendy brand that engages with consumers.
Refund.me, Claim Your Rights: Multi-Country Campaign category finalist
MdC designed and implemented a pan-European, integrated 360° campaign that launched technology start-up refund.me from a purely local online business to worldwide sector leader. After a successful launch in Germany, online passenger rights specialist refund.me aimed to replicate its success worldwide using technology and local legal teams to claim compensations from airlines for flight delays and cancellations.
MdC’s brand-launching, international campaign involved attacking airlines, partnering with consumer rights NGOs and lobbying to elected European and national officials. Executed and tailored to the English, French, German and Spanish markets, the campaign raised awareness and drove business across age groups and cultures, combining media relations, social media, advertising, SEM, SEO and design.
In less than a year MdC’s 360° campaign multiplied refund.me’s sales and catapulted it from a local online business to the undisputed worldwide sector leader and key expert voice.
Bombardier’s African Take-Off: Africa category finalist
MdC generated overwhelming media coverage of Bombardier’s inauguration in Morocco, positioning the event not only as the client’s ground-breaking, but also as the start of Morocco and Africa’s aerospace industry.
Said Didier Lagae, MdC’s Founder and CEO: “It’s an honour for us to be recognised yet again at prestigious awards such as the EMEA Gold SABRE Awards. The different nominations, from the consumer to corporate and technology sectors with stops in markets as varied as Spain, Africa, the UK, France and Germany, are a testament to the success of our international positioning.”
Indeed, over the last few years MdC has aggressively pursued and cemented its hub-and-spoke model that enables it to offer global communication support to clients from its owned offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Casablanca and Miami with ad-hoc service from local affiliate agencies in more than 40 cities.
